Synapse Shadowing Program

The Synapse Shadowing Program is geared towards students in Synapse who are looking to pursue careers in the healthcare field. Synapse takes the initiative to find medical providers that are willing to have dedicated Synapse students shadow them. Students in good standing with the organization, namely Cortex members, are invited to apply. Selected participants will be allotted an estimated 15 hours of shadowing experience.

Previous healthcare professional specialties that Synapse members have shadowed include neurology, plastic surgery, pediatric neurosurgery, and consultation liaison psychiatry. Synapse primarily recruits professionals associated with the Dell Seton/Ascension network, but also utilizes Austin-area private practices on a less frequent basis.
